Parents of William Ernest Miller are Benjamin Miller and Eliza Miller (nee Clark). They had 10 children (5 boys and 5 girls), William being the 5th born.
Although William was never married, he did have a relationship with Agnes Lucy Williams who had one daughter (Edith Amy Miller) out of wedlock. Edith Amy (referred to herself as a “War Baby”) was born on 30 Mar 1915, seven weeks after the death of William on the battlefield. Edith Amy Miller was given up for “adoption”, although formal adoption papers have not been located. It is thought that she was taken to a “workhouse” and from there was looked after by the “Davey” family. It is unsure if William ever knew of the pregnancy or had intended marriage, but the war (and his untimely death) put an end to that opportunity.
