Victor had enlisted in the Territorial Force probably as soon as he was old enough (this was permissible from age 17 with the TF). He was serving on the Home Front as part of 225 Infantry Brigade Train when he contracted pneumonia and was treated at the 333rd Field Ambulance in Cotmer House, Oulton Broad, but died there on 28th February.
He was buried with military honours in Bramford Churchyard.
